Our Journey.

I opened my doors in December of 2015. I had a passion for eyelash extensions and I wanted to create an environment where from the moment you walked into our studio you felt welcome and at home. I not only focused on giving quality work but an experience, from the calming aesthetic of the studio to the smell, padded heated facial beds for comfort and the relaxing music and our customer service. I believe that not only are the quality of our services important but our environment in which we create can have a lasting impact. I was drawn to eyelash extensions because of the way they can accent one of our greatest features, our eyes. To see the glow in my clients face when they open their eyes and look in the mirror is why I do what I do. To make women feel more confident and beautiful in their own skin is an honor. I had grown the business through word of mouth, my social media platforms and our website which I have designed and built. I was blessed with so much support that I was able to expand my business and be able to create an opportunity for another woman to start her very own career as a Lash Artist as well. From there we continued to grow with a demand for our services, I then added on and mentored 3 more girls and was able to start their careers as well. When I first opened I never thought my business would blossom into what it had become, I never thought I would have a team. I look back on this moment as I write in true gratitude that I was able to be a source for women to live out their passion and careers.

In 2020 we were halted due to COVID-19. We were forced to shutdown for an extended period longer than most due to the nature of our services and the potential to spread COVID-19. During this period it brought out fear of the unknown and uncertainty of the future. During this period 3 of 4 of my girls decided that they were not going to come back due to realizations during COVID and wanting to be home based. There were also financial obligations that were still being demanded even though we were not able to physically work which depleted the financial savings. This was a huge financial loss for the business and created a lot of uncertainty of the future of the business. In addition I had my son in July of 2020. I was not able to return to work due to maternity leave to care for my newborn which was a very high priority especially during the unknowns of COVID with a newborn and the effects if he was to be exposed at that time. I I had 1 girl working for myself at this time and she took on my clients and her own at a full time capacity. I write this back story to give you an intro of what I am now facing.

COVID-19 brought about the reevaluation of my business. When I returned to work I had noticed the change in the beauty industry as a whole, the demand for beauty services wasn’t the same. During COVID women couldn’t go get their nails/hair/eyelashes done so they found new ways to DIY their services they once had or all together went without and no longer returned to doing the “optional” services. What I have found is, people are not willing to spend their money as easy or they are making sure that where they do place spend their money is of a high return value and that of something they cannot DIY or create at home. Since COVID-19 I decided it was best to have more services to accompany more clientele and build the revenue within our existing clientele. I added skincare treatments to our salon which also compliments the aesthetic services we already have. I have been building up this portion of our business within this last year, due to the limited about of working capital I currently have I am limited to what I am able to achieve within this area. As I have previously expressed about creating that unique experience for our clientele, my hopes with our skincare services is to bring not only a unique experience to my salon but to our area as a whole, to enrich the diversity amongst Niagara County within the beauty service industry. I have been building what is to be called “Skin Therapy” skincare treatments to bring results but with relaxation and a spa like experience at the forefront. I have also recently added another girl to the team which I hope to help build as well.

At this point my request for business capital is to build up the salon to what it was before COVID-19. To build my team and our services, to have capital to invest into a larger range of skincare products and equipment to add more services in return more revenue and reach a larger demographic. With the recent expansion of the team it requires additional equipment to supply her with what she needs to expand.

I thank you for your time and consideration.
